Alexis Arrazcaeta MA AIRC
Alexis is a Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa, a Certified Artist in Residence and teaching artist in the Tampa Bay Area. She has a Masters in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida 2019 and a Bachelors in Art Therapy and Psychology with a minor in Art from the University of Tampa 2012. As an artist she creates functional sculptures and wares that have an emphasis on experimental glaze work. She tests the limits of her materials and allows the fluidity of the medium to create character and uniqueness in each piece. Her focus in art making is the potential adaptability of the mediums she works with and how they can meet the needs of the creator.
Through the years of assisting others through the creative process Alexis has developed a specialty in adaptability and accessibility through the arts, with her main focus being on cognitive development in children and adults with developmental disabilities. She believes the arts create a platform for us to continue to learn about ourselves and the world around us, but its greatest power of all is its ability to bring us all together and ultimately improve our health.
